Résumé

MARIE GISELE SOHO said it was pleased that the Human Rights Council was focused on the situation in Côte d’Ivoire. The medical coverage was almost nonexistent in the country because they had run out of stocks of medicine, in addition there was limited access to food and banks had closed down. There was regular suspension of classes and children had to migrate to other areas with more than 800,000 children that were affected by the crisis. The participants supported the establishment of an independent Commission of Inquiry into the human rights violations in Côte d’Ivoire.
