This questions and answers brochure carries forward previous studies on Human Rights Education (HRE) issues and brings some answers to a certain number of FAQ.
The first part (1 to 5) recalls HRE throughout it’s history and it’s contents and how it is linked to compulsary civic education. It also introduce the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UNUDHR).
The second part (6 to 8) is particulary devoted to law : how to teach the law and procedures and what are human rights.
Thirdly (9 to 11), this part in an update on international institutions which deal with HRE, the means of control at their disposal and states practices.
Finally, the last part (12 to 15) deals with some recurring themes : religion, rights and obligations, freedom of education and environment.
At the end you will find an annex which includes the UNUDHR and the European Social Charter, a glossary on HRE and a list of ducumentory resources.
