International Treaties and HRE

Numerous treaties exist through which States have committed themselves to implement human rights education, which is provided for in one form or another by the following treaties :

• Universal Declaration of Human Rights (art. 26.2)
• International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (art. 7)
• International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (art. 13.1)
• Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (art. 10c)
• Convention on the Rights of the Child (art. 29.1)
• UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education (art. 5.1 a). 3
