Mali : a website on the monitoring of the implementation of the recommandations accepted by this country following a UPR session.

On the 2013 UPR session Mali has endorsed 112 out of the 125 recommandations which were formulated by members of the Human Rights Council. Now, the next important step is to make sure that those recommandations shall be implemented.

In the HRE 2020's newsletter (august 2015) Global Coalition for Human Rights Education tells us that : « Human rights education is in the top ten most-raised issues within the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process, a peer-review of government's human rights records.

Le 17 septembre prochain une « journée de sensibilisation et de discussion sur les recommandations faites récemment par le Comité des droits de l’enfant des Nations unies à la Suisse (Observations finales). La journée aura lieu au Musée d'histoire naturelle de Genève et le rapporteur de l'ONU pour la Suisse M. Bernard Gastaud sera de la partie. Inscriptions jusqu'au 1er septembre.

During the world summit on sustainable development in September 2015, United Nations' state parties will adopt a new set of objectives for the after 2015 program.

A set of 17 goals covering the period 2015 to 2030 will succeed to the previous 8 objectives of the Millenium.

The prohibition and the elimination of corporal punishment of children remains a concern in several parts of the world.

Although 46 States prohibited any corporal punishment of the children and that at least 50 other States began to prohibit it, there is still a lot to be done elsewhere.

This remains a current issue in a certain number of states where the Universal Periodic Review of will set their overall records in the field of human rights.

CIFEDHOP will be holding in Geneva, from October 27th to 2nd November 2015 its 10th International Training Session on the UN Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR) for civil society and educational organisations. It will provide knowledge on how to use the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) as a leverage for human rights awareness raising, education and public debates as well.
